The Rotary Club of Assisi offers opportunities for our members – and for those interested in making a difference – to get involved. Through meetings, social events and volunteer projects, our members learn about the pressing problems of communities around the world, as well as local, how to collaborate with area, national and global experts to exchange ideas on possible solutions and develop related plans of action.
The Club of Assisi was founded in 1973 by the doctor Geo Lazzari and for 43 years has been committed, thanks to the tireless contribution of the members, to "serving" the territory for the common good, focusing its attention on promoting peace, fighting disease , protect mothers and children, support education and develop the local economy. The local Rotary has always carried out dissemination, enhancement and protection activities for the cultural and artistic heritage.
The international twinning signed in Assisi, in the spring of 1989, between the Clubs of Assisi, Fatima, Nazareth, Santiago de Compostela and San Francisco is a source of great satisfaction.
The attention and closeness to young people closes the circle with the sponsorship of the Rotaract Club for young people aged 18 to 30 and of the Interact, for children aged 12 to 18.
MAKING THE DIFFERENCE
Contribute to the solution of real problems, have a concrete and positive impact on our local reality: it is for this reason that our Club is committed to the prevention and treatment of diseases, with awareness projects in the urological, cardiological and dermatological fields, and supports the social inclusion with events and donations.
The Rotary Club Assisi also organizes orientation and information meetings on the world of work and professions in the area, with direct testimonies from its members.
To involve citizens, we promote conferences and series of meetings on historical-cultural themes and on new technologies, in the presence of students from local schools.
